Hi everyone, I’ve come out of my semi hibernation to join up with another corp and move out into nullsec.
I’ve been with my corp for a few weeks now, but only yesterday moved out to LF-2KP star system, a “null sec” or 0.0 security system in Providence.
Getting there has been a bit of a hassle, since I had to warp about 10 jumps through “the pipe” to our sovereign space, but I managed it without getting podded or even shot at. It certainly helps having a rifter completely decked out with agility & speed enhancing gear as you pretty much insta-warp after each jump!
I was lucky enough to have a corp mate with a carrier who is able to put my well fitted Covetor mining barge and 20 odd million isk worth of bits & pieces on board his ship. So now I’m just waiting for him to come online and be lucky enough to have a cyno pilot in LF solar system.
Its totally dangerous!
For those who don’t play Eve, its too dangerous jumping a mining barge through nullsec space to get to your alliance’s territory… so what happens is carrier or jump freighter pilots will haul a huge load of ships and equipment via “cyno jumps” which let them avoid all the jumps (and pirates) in between and land right on target in the system they need to be in.
This process has draw backs in that it takes some coordination, and the expenditure of some fairly expensive (I think??) resources by the pilots involved, but obviously this is far offset by the fact hundreds of millions of isk worth of gear can safely make it out into the badlands.
What have I been doing in nullsec?
Since arriving in LF my poverty stricken capsuleer arse has been begging alms from corp mates (thanks guys!!), and looting other pilot’s kills from rats in nullsec.
Sad I know.
When I get my barge’s into LF though, I should be able to start racking up some serious isk, and begin saving for a really good cruiser or assault ship setup.
I might ACTUALLY get into a small fleet engagement soon (I’m talking about PvP, or player versus player battles here) and be able to report on that. Its been a goal of mine for this blog for ages so I look forward to relaying my opinions on it.
