Well well… it seems this game is difficult after all… You know how in World of Warcraft or any other MMO you play, its pretty much a guarantee that you’ll beat most enemies you fight?
It doesn’t seem that way here in Eve… I’m about 15 missions along now in the epic mission arc that you start after the tutorial missions, and I’m having trouble!

Check out the armor and hull damage I’ve taken (the inner and outer circles)… I got awefully close to biting the big one out there!
I check with my new found friends in my corp, and I’ve been advised to take a gyrostabilizer on my ship to increase my close up, in your face 200mm autocannon damage. Oh, and I had a shield enhancement, as well as hardened armor plates, so I was also told to amplify either the shields or the armor, not both at the same time!
I’m going to fit that out now, and then unfortunately my play time is at an end for today.
Friends and Girlfriends:
Another piece of news is that I’ve managed to rope a few friends in to play with me. I have a friend who likes MMO’s, so hes starting up a character that will pirate with me, and my girlfriend even gave it go tonight.
To be honest she wasn’t picking it up that well, but better than I expected. She hasn’t played games for long (maybe 6 months), but still could work most of it out.
Corporations:
I can’t recommend highly enough finding a good training corp when you first join this game… It seems other players have a vested interest in seeing you get good soon, and will supply an endless stream of advice to you on pretty much anything you need to know.
Its also good for the social aspect… You ARE playing an MMO after all, right!?
